Tip: Link Your MSA to Movies Anywhere, Get a Free Movie
Now that Microsoft’s Movies & TV app is finally compatible with the Movies Anywhere service, the software giant is offering you an incentive to link up in the form of a free movie. The bad news? It’s one of the lesser X-Men movies.
Still. A free movie is a free movie.
Click here to connect your Microsoft Account (MSA) to Movies Anywhere. You’ll be prompted to sign-in to your Microsoft Account and authorize the link-up.
While you’re there, you should also link any other movie services you may use: Amazon Prime Video, Apple iTunes, Fandango Now, Google Play Movies & TV (which includes YouTube), and VUDU are all compatible. And once you make these connections, any eligible purchases you made across any of the services.
So what does “eligible purchases” mean? Today, five of the biggest movie studios in the world support this service. So most of the movies you’ve bought that were made by Disney, Sony, Twentieth Century Fox, Universal, and Warner Bros. should show up everywhere. There is, however, a list of exceptions. And, of course, some big studios—like Lionsgate, MGM, and Paramount—that do not currently participate.
Practically speaking, you should see between one-half and two-thirds of the movie purchases you’ve made across all of the compatible services appear.
Oh, and that free movie? It’s X-Men: Days of Future Past. Sorry.
